It’s hard to ‘let it be.’ To stop trying desperately to fix everything or make it better.
We say we want to hear God’s voice. We want direction or answers. But listening comes in relationship. We need to learn to ‘let it be.’ To sit with God and with our circumstances – for a minute or five or twenty. To ‘let it be’ in God’s presence, without agenda, without words – simply remembering that God is with us, whatever is happening… and that is enough.
When we ‘let it be,’ we clear away the noisy chatter and anxious striving that make hearing difficult. We make room for God to be God and discover the deep stillness of God’s peace that makes hearing possible.
